The festival
Three independent breweries are taking over Fish Hoek for two full days of fresh craft beer, good food, live entertainment and easy company. Pull up a seat, meet the brewers and celebrate the community that makes the Deep South special.

What to expect

Fresh pours from three independent breweries.

A lively soundtrack to keep the weekend moving.

Food trucks and festival eats to keep you going between beers.

Friends, neighbours and new faces around every table.

Lawn games and friendly rivalry between rounds.

Tasting flights to work your way across all three breweries.

A spot for the little ones, so the whole family can come along.

Bavarian spirit with a proudly Deep South flavour.
A portion of the proceeds goes straight back into the community. This year it goes to the Joyce Chevalier Centre in Fish Hoek, a protective workshop that has provided sheltered employment and skills development for adults with disabilities since 1972, and to Fish Hoek Cricket Club.
This year's causes
Every year the festival backs a different local cause.

Cofounder, Valley Brewery
Lizel designed wedding dresses before she designed beers, and brought that same precision to Valley Brewery in Kommetjie. From couture to craft, the passion for making something special never changed.

Cofounder, Long Beach Brewery
A passionate brewer and serial experimenter, Charlie has been part of the Noordhoek community since 2013, building a brewery known as much for its people as its beer. When he's not brewing, he's making music.

Cofounder & Head Brewer, Aegir Project
Rory honed his craft in breweries across New Zealand and Scotland before coming home to launch Aegir Project in 2015. Named for the Norse god of the sea and brewing, it has grown into a Deep South institution.

Cofounder & Event Director
A creative director and impact entrepreneur with decades of experience across events, sponsorships, hospitality, brand activations and community-driven initiatives. For Ryan, the Deep South Oktober Beer Fest is about bringing people together, supporting local and building an annual event on the Cape Town event calendar that the Deep South can be proud of and call its own.
